Hutong is excited to unveil a new global cocktail menu, Tale of Mahjong, inspired by the timeless Chinese game of Mahjong.
A game of strategy, skill and symbolism, Mahjong has been at the heart of Chinese family celebrations and community gatherings for generations. More than just a game, it is a cultural ritual that brings people together through friendly competition, conversation and shared moments.
We’re bringing this tradition to level 33 of The Shard with our Mahjong inspired cocktails. The menu unfolds in four distinct chapters, each inspired by the emotions and moments experienced throughout the game. From the anticipation of the opening shuffle to the thrill of a winning hand, discover unexpected flavours, playful combinations and theatrical serves inspired by the world of Mahjong.

Shuffle the Tiles
Drawing on the Four Winds, this collection of four 0% ABV drinks captures the fizz of anticipation and excitement before a game begins.
Draw A Tile
The Circle and Bamboo tiles inspire this chapter, capturing the mystery of drawing an unseen tile. Expect unexpected flavour combinations designed to catch you off guard, in the best way.
Form The Hand
Bringing the Character and Flower tiles to life, this chapter brings together unexpected ingredients and flavours from East and West, creating playful combinations that shouldn’t quite work — but somehow do.
Win The Hand
Inspired by the Dragon tiles, the final chapter is all about the thrill of victory. Expect theatrical serves and bold flavours inspired by that winning moment, where luck, strategy and a little calculated risk come together.
