The Hutong New York Experience
Tucked in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, Hutong is known for bold Northern Chinese cooking, delicate dim sum, and one of the city’s most striking dining rooms.
Inspired by the glamour of 1920s New York and Shanghai, we serve up fiery flavours, signature cocktails, and standout moments – earning us a place among the best Chinese restaurants in New York City.
The Shanghai Bar & Lounge
Just steps from Fifth Avenue, The Shanghai Bar & Lounge at Hutong is where Midtown Manhattan comes to life after dark. Whether you’re dropping by for Social Hour or staying late for our DJ sets, this is one of the best bars in New York to drink, dance, and unwind.
The cocktail list is as inventive as the space is glamorous. Highlights include the signature Comfortably Numb, made with Sichuan peppercorn and Thai chilli, and the Smoked Dan Dan Old Fashioned – a wild twist on the classic.
Come early for $10 drinks and dim sum from 4–6pm, or join us Thursday to Saturday as top New York City DJs turn up the volume from 10pm. Walk-ins welcome, private bookings available.

Bubbles & Bao Weekend Brunch
Ask any local where to find the best brunch in New York, and they’ll point you towards our Bubbles & Bao offering. Every weekend, we transform our Art Deco dining room into a rather special celebration of dim sum, champagne, and proper Chinese cooking.
The concept is brilliantly simple: settle in for unlimited portions of our handmade dim sum, from truffle-laced bao to delicate prawn dumplings. Add 90 minutes of free-flowing cocktails or champagne, and you’ve got yourself quite the weekend sorted.
You might want to try our tableside Flaming Peking Duck. It’s become an Instagram sensation, and we promise it tastes even better than it looks.
Brunch at Hutong New York is served every Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am to 4:00pm. Booking is essential.
